The Musi River originates in the Anantagiri hills and flows into the Osman Sagar and Himayatsagar reservoirs, it consists of 2 rivulets Esi(8 km) and Musa (13 km) which then converge into Musi River thus being the water sources for Hyderabad for over a century.

It is important to renew the river as it can become a habitat for the aquatic animals and continue being a source of water for the city as it had been before. Its time we repay the river for all the benefits it provided by eliminating all the untreated domestic and industrial wastewater in the water body. The Musi river that meanders through Hyderabad is itself dying a slow, death, contaminating its surroundings just as the residents and authorities of Hyderabad have contaminated it with garbage and industrial waste. It can impact every individual of the city or country as the chemical waste which enters the river from industries seeps into the ground and contaminates groundwater. The same water is consumed by people and adversely affects their health.

The river receives about 1250 million liters of untreated domestic and industrial wastewater every day. So, I have taken into consideration how the Musi river is being heavily polluted by various human activities and turning into a killer now. I would like to bring this issue to the notice of everyone and appeal for a proper course of action to protect the river for sustainable use. As a citizen, you should stop polluting the river and make a difference. Keeping the urgency of the issue, I would like to request everyone to support the cause by signing the petition in order to pressurize the government for quick action to make the conditions of the river healthier. Your signature can help save THE MUSI RIVER.
