Fight against the unlawful exclusion of 6th form students
This petition had 241 supporters
Every year, students are being excluded from schools simply because they didn't make the grade.
Schools are now so heavily focused on their league table standings, that many bright pupils are being forced out half way through their 6th form studies, or being told that they can't continue to study the subjects they intend to follow into further education.
What needs to change?
We want to see the current ruling by the department of education, which clearly states that it is illegal to exclude a child for academic attainment, fully enforced by Ofsted and the Senior Leadership Teams responsible for all state schools and academies across the country.
We want to ensure that students interests, both academic and pastoral, remain the priority concern at school.
We want to protect our children, and their futures from the unnecessary pressure of league table competition. Please support us.
