A potential driving and pedestrian hazard exists near 6000 Stevenson Ave in West End - Alexandria VA. I wanted to bring it to your attention or ask who should address it. There is a blind spot from the 6000 Stevenson Parking lot turning left into traffic. It is challenging to see traffic behind parked vehicles on the left side of the 6000 Stevenson Ave parking lot. Alexandria City should mark the parking lot with signage for hidden entrances. I suggest removing 2-3 parking spots in front of the parking lot entrance. This will increase visibility for exiting vehicles.

In addition, the intersection between Stevenson Ave and Whiting St does not have push-button-activated pedestrian crossing lights signals. I suggest making the crosswalk a square with additional crossing lights going across Stevenson Ave and Whiting with audible indicators. Increased traffic has been projected with the new construction near Big Lots and Landmark Mall locations. This is a highly dense resident area with women and children. We need an immediate solution.
