In a democracy, the strongest and most valuable things we have are a vote and a voice. I, like many my age, believe in our democracy and its strength. However, one of those valuable aspects of a democracy that is absent from the youth, and that is a vote. To you I propose that the voting age be lowered to sixteen. At the age of sixteen, one is able to drive, work a job with an income they may pay taxes on, contributes to the economy by buying goods and services, possibly volunteers in their community, and lives under the law, meaning that all they contribution similarly or the same as voters. With the youth's presence in society, it is necessary to give them a voice while promoting educated votes and the importance of voting.
