URGE THE PRIME MINISTER TO KEEP HIS PROMISE FOR CLEAN WATER ON FIRST NATIONS RESERVES

Thousands of indigenous people are living with contaminated and inadequate water, some for over a decade. Drinking water on reserves has been polluted from industry and broken water systems.
Ingesting the contaminated water has led to disease, birth defects, and deaths.
Right now there are 59 boil-water advisories on reserves. Eighty-one
advisories have been removed. Boil water advisories are given when the water is not safe to drink.
The government has made progress on eliminating advisories. But the David Suzuki foundation warns progress falls short of what is needed to meet the deadline.
Critics say the Liberals’ clean water program is 25% under funded.
Small steps have been taken when there need to be sustainable long term solutions.
Many boil water advisories are eliminated only to be put back on again.
