The decriminilisation of nunchaku and shuriken
These training tools were banned by ignorant politicians watching fantasy movies. They are legal in most of the countries in the world, for example, the U.S.A, U.K and Japan, the later 2 countries having very strict weapons laws, and crime with nunchaku and shuriken are not a problem. They prohibit training for many martial artists and is quite absurd. I understand that this is not a lofty human right goal but I think it is one that would positively impact the martial arts world and would foster the understanding of other cultures and their history. The nunchaku is a rice flail, yes, a farming tool. They banned a farming tool that was used as a weapon in a movie. Its effectiveness as a weapon is highly debatable but it has uses as a training tool for martial arts and also to demonstrate Okinawan farming practices. Shuriken are also a non lethal weapon used by Samurai to distract opponents or as a surprise to either lead to an attack or as a means to escape. In banning this, part of the martial art and it's history is lost. It is a sinple change that will have a positive impact, not a negative one. Criminals won't spend hours training to use these as weapons when guns and knives are easier to use and more effective. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please support the change.
