Stop age discrimination

My husband is 65 and for financial and personal reasons he will have to work into his seventies. I am on LTD. imagine our surprise when we found that on his 65  birthday his group life insurance through his work benefits plan was cancelled. On enquiry, we were informed that this is within the law to cancel these benefits when he turned 65. We could also not take the matter to the Human Rights Commission as it is excluded in regards to making a claim under the age discrimination category. Given that many people have to work into their seventies and retirement is becoming more and more difficult, the Government needs to either change the official age of retirement, or remove any legislation that is age discriminatory. We now have to pay outrageous rates in order to get some private coverage. Canada needs to review the official retirement age of 65 when does not reflect the Canadian populations day to day reality.
