Mitigating climate change is more important than balancing it with the economy

Climate change is an existential crisis which requires urgent action. The Canadian government signed the Paris Agreement in 2015 to keep global temperature increases well below 2 degrees but has not changed our emission reduction targets to match our commitment. Not only have they not changed our targets, but they are far from meeting them.

Justin Trudeau seems to believe that we must balance the economy and climate change. He needs to understand that climate change is a crisis that requires urgent action like countries did to fight World War II. Too long environmental priorities have been neglected or dismissed because they were not good for the economy. Now that we are in an environmental crisis, they wish to balance economy and environment? No - Now is the time for sacrifices in favour of the environment.
