Dear Prime Minister Trudeau,

Canadians are dismayed and saddened at the recent revelation of the remains of 215 First Nation children discovered in an unmarked grave at the Residential School in Kamloops. These children, regardless of race, creed, religion, cultural background or ethnicity are CANADIAN CITIZENS, We grieve with our First Nations this egregious, heinous crime.
We, Prime Minister demand a Commission with the power to investigate any and all Residential School grounds to determine if more mass graves are present. We demand that the remains be identified and respectfully returned to their people. We demand that the Churches involved release any and all documentation that may be relevant in both the discovery and identification of any of the remains. We demand that any and all cost be shared among these religious institutions and that should they fail to provide the adequate resources, we demand that their charity and tax exemptions be revoked until such time that they accept financial responsibility.
Any site where remains are discovered should have a memorial marking in respect of those who perished and a reminder of this dark chapter in our history.
