An independent prosecutor is needed to conduct the review of the deaths and crimes against the Indigenous children in Canada.   A prosecutor who can investigate government and churches - primarily the catholic church - to ensure all evidence is surfaced and made available so justice can be achieved for those who died and those affected by residential schools.

For too long there have been cover ups and risk mitigation strategies to protect government and church officials from being accountable for the abuse trying to take the “Indian out of the child”.    The children and families deserve justice and answers and this work is best achieved as a third party to those structures in question.
