Here in Prince George at a longterm care facility which I will not name, I have created a petition in preparation in supporting our unvaccinated Healthcare workers in deciding on their method of covid-19 testing. There was an article posted in myprincegeorgenow.com which we will share the link for, that states lifting restrictions for visitors in longterm care and placing restrictions on unvaccinated care workers in longterm care facilities. These are the words of Dr. Bonnie Henry " Staff will be expected to be fully immunized and, if not, they must keep following protocols to keep wearing masks AND getting tested 3 times a week. "I have talked with an HEU union representative who had no idea that this was said or that my current facility lifted masks for those vaccinated, told the unvaccinated that swab testing would start soon, and that unvaccinated were to continue ppe protocol. After the HEU rep contacted northern health to enquire about this I was told by this person that northern health does not have anything such as testing in place as of yet. So why? You ask have I created a petition to promote freedom of choice on method of testing? Because like those unvaccinated upon their own beliefs I as well have mine and believe this mandatory testing will be in place and we will POSSIBLY not be given the choice as to how we are tested for Covid-19. I stress! This is a petition in PREPARATION to prevent the enforcement of any method of testing that YOU personally do not want to be subject to without a choice. If you sign this you ARE NOT refusing to be tested but simply standing together asking for a choice in testing methods! I personally do not want a cotton swab shoved up my nasal cavity scratching my frontal lobe 3 times a week. If we are to stand together our constitutional rights which all Canadians are entitled to, not just Healthcare workers, can be and will be met. Please help me gather numbers in keeping our freedom of choice alive and stop bullying by enforcement.
