Canadians should have the right to bare a sidearm, cases like the NS shooting could be dealt with long before they get out of hand, as they did. Simply adopt the US system where it gets attached to your Drivers license, this way cops know right away you legally have a sidearm. Submit your fingerprints to the RCMP to get your carry permit, after all, we have nothing to hide, we aren’t criminals. These steps along with your RPAL should give us the right to defend ourselves and family against threats. Crime rates will commence a steady decline if every Canadian had the right to bare a sidearm. It’s been proven over and over, the states in the US with concealed carry have incredibly low crime rates versus the states that do not allow concealed carry. Of course, with all of this, Canadian law would have to be re-written in a way that would allow us to actually defend ourselves by any means necessary. Think, if teachers could be trained to conceal carry in schools? School shootings would be impossible! Women could defend themselves from rapists! Out of those 22 victims in NS one of them could’ve stopped it all! Evil has existed in this world from day one and it will always exist, and we demand the right to protect ourselves from it!
