At any given time, there are dozens of communities in Canada without access to clean drinking water. Living in the year 2021, and in a first world nation, this is unacceptable.

With devastating news coming out of Kamloops, BC, where the bodies of 215 Residential School students were found in an unmarked grave, it is more important than ever that people stand up and demand that FNMI communities are better taken care of today and in the future. All FNMI persons deserve to have access to clean drinking water. This is a United Nations-recognized human right. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, all Canadians need to have access to clean water.

The Trudeau government committed to resolving the water crisis by March 2021, but failed to do so. We need to let the government know that we do not tolerate this failure. FNMI communities need clean drinking water. The government needs to create a sustainable solution to this problem.

I created this petition in honour of the likely thousands of children who died while attending Residential Schools in Canada. We cannot be silent anymore. We cannot tolerate that FNMI children in our country do not have access to clean water. Please support our mission by signing this petition.
