Change in Canadian Mental Health Services for the Better!

Change in Canadian Mental Health Services for the Better!
Why this petition matters
Mental health is equally as important as an individual’s physical wellbeing throughout every stage of life. Mental health can include emotional, social and psychological well-being and can reflect on how people feel, act and think. An important aspect of mental health is it essentially results in how people handle stress and the decision to make healthy choices in life. When nurturing mental health, it can aid in physical illnesses as well and just as physical fitness, mental fitness should be considered in order to sustain good mental health. For example, keeping stress levels down can decrease the risk for heart disease.
Although some people may not realize this, 1 out of 5 Canadians suffer from mental illnesses. Especially living through the 3rd Ontario lock-down from the COVID-19 pandemic, Canadian people need to consider keeping their mental health strong and well throughout these difficult times.
Every successful politician needs to be a positive representation towards Canadian people and Canada’s tragic mental health and addictions crisis. By doing so, Canadian people need a Mental Health and Addictions advocate in the Prime Minister’s Office. Many Canadian citizens and their families have suffered from losses due to mental illness and this should awaken the drive to sufficiently better the mental health system that is currently in Canada. As Canadian people, we need a medical care system that not only meets physical needs but mental needs as well.
Please help and support this petition to in hopes allow a Mental Health and Addictions advocate in the Prime Minister’s office at all times moving forward. We together can end the stigma associated with mental health and help support all individuals who are suffer. Always remember you are not alone.
