For decades, Indian students have been pursuing education from Canada, and doing great things after returning to India. This includes names such as Rahul Sharma of Micromax, V K Aatre of DRDO, V R Srinivasan of NPCI, Bimal Kumar Roy of ISI etc.

But, as things stand, such brilliant graduates of Canadian universities could be a thing of the past.

Ever since Canadian authorities began processing student visa applications from June 2021, nearly 50 thousand Indian applicants have been rejected. All with the same message “I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit”.

If this was a small set of students then it could have been acceptable. But it’s happening to every Indian and surely cannot be a coincidence. This appears to be an agenda driven against Indian students wishing to pursue education from Canada. Or, maybe Mr. Justin Trudeau isn’t aware of what’s going on behind his back.

It’s an undeniable fact that when Indians go abroad for study then they grow that country. USA is a great example of the same (Satya Nadella of Microsoft, Sundar Pichai of Google, Arvind Krishna of IBM, etc.) It has happened in the past and will happen in future also.

The Canadian authorities shouldn’t forget the role of Indians in their country’s progress. In early 2021, when Canada was not able to scout vaccines, it is India who provided them in times of need.

Therefore, this petition is directed at Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, to resolve this matter. If it’s diplomatic then please have a session with the relevant Indian authorities.

Otherwise, the future of many promising humans will be hindered, simply because of the country they belong to.
