Do you think a child in grade school is old enough to understand the implications of a medical treatment, as described to them by a school nurse? This province wants AND HAS ENACTED carte blanche to treat your child without your consent, in school, and without their medical chart present. If you think this Act is a gross abuse of power by our government, please join me in abolishing this overreach, and keep our kids’ medicine where it belongs: handled by family medical professionals and with parental knowledge and consent. Parents alone will carry the burden of these decisions, they need to be made in concert with parents, end of story. BC PARENTS WILL NOT STAND FOR CLOSED DOOR POLITICS THAT SERVE TO COMMODIFY OUR CHILDREN, nor do we find acceptable the removal of parental rights while children attend public school for the sole purpose of receiving an education, NOT to receive secret, closed door health care. We will NOT ACCEPT this predatory, GROOMING behavior from a provincial government and school system which is meant to garner the trust of the parent, not circumvent our roles as legal guardians, decision-makers, carers and sponsors of our children.
