Electrify New Haven

In Connecticut, less than 50% of the energy used to generate electricity comes from fossil fuels. By expanding electrification in CT, we will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Electrification of buildings, transportation, and appliances will also reduce sound and air pollution, increase resident’s savings, and support social equity.

Last summer, the city of New Haven declared a climate emergency. Yet City policies continue to allow and support fossil fuel infrastructure, which negatively impacts our health, especially right now, amidst a pandemic. We are calling on Mayor Justin Elicker and the Board of Alders to take action and support electrification policies to create a safe climate and healthy communities.
