#justiceforScottJohnson - Reinstate Charges for Radiohead Stage Collapse

It’s been six years since Radiohead’s drum technician Scott Johnson was killed at Toronto’s Downsview Park when the stage collapsed. During this time the Ontario court systems have failed to find anyone accountable.
Radiohead’s return to Toronto reignited the discussion of injustice faced by Scott's family and by the band members. At the end of Thursday's concert, vocalist Thom Yorke captured the frustration and emotional toll they have all endured.
Backstory: Charges were laid in the initial case against Live Nation, engineer Domenic Cugliari, and Optex Staging, however, due to administrative failures of the provincial courts, the charges were stayed when a judge ruled the matter took too long to get to trial. A coroner’s inquest is set for early 2019, but this is designed to only collect the details involved in Scott Johnson’s death - not to find those responsible.
As a resident of Toronto, I am deeply ashamed. Everyone involved in events hosted by our city should feel safe and respected. Creating this petition was the least that I could do to help bring closure for all of those affected.
Sign this petition to support Scott Johnson’s family, Radiohead, and to:
- Pressure the Attorney General of Ontario, Caroline Mulroney, to appeal the stay on the case and to reinstate the charges against those accused
- Pressure the Attorney General of Ontario, Caroline Mulroney, to address the longstanding shortages of court resources
- Ensure that the inquest into Scott Johnson’s death results in increased safety measures for future live events
