COMPENSATION NOW

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

Approximately 2000 people were not considered by the Jamaica government's Compensation Committee for  compensation for various forms of abuses suffered during the 2010 Tivoli Gardens/West Kingston massacre carried out by the security forces: death, injuries, property damage, illegal detention, etc. Only 450 people have been awarded compensation.

This is unacceptable. The government makes the claim that the compensation process is closed. We refuse to accept this. The compensation process was flawed and lacking in transparency. The government has a duty under international law to compensate the victims as outlined by UN's  "Basic Principles and Guidelines on the Right to a Remedy and Reparation for Victims of Gross Violations of International Human Rights Law and Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law".

We demand COMPLETE and FAIR COMPENSATION NOW.
