JUSTICE FOR PRISCILLA SLATER
Priscilla Slater was a 38-year-old black woman who was found dead Wednesday June 10 in her cell in Harper Woods Police custody. She was arrested for her involvement in a shooting incident that happened prior. She was with a man named Lewis Nichols at Parkcrest Motel. Abused by Nichols to the point where quote,
“She couldn’t even stand up by herself before the police even came,” an unidentified eyewitness said.
Some details are missing as this is an ongoing investigation, but the witness (unidentified for their protection) stated that at some point Nichols opened fire in the motel. Officials say there were 19 shots total. In an effort to get away, Nichols pushed Slater to the ground and she couldn’t get up, according to the witness.
“He knocked her to the ground and she was there, barely could get up. He was trying to drag her, saying, ‘Let’s go. Let’s go.’
Nichols and Slater were later arrested without incident, but not 12 hours later Slater was found unresponsive in her cell.
This is an ongoing investigation but her family still has no answers! Please sign and share this petition to pressure the Harper Woods Police Department and Harper Woods Mayor Kenneth Poynter to give Priscilla Slater’s family the answers they deserve!
