We, the undersigned, are calling for a full and transparent investigation into the tragic and suspicious death of Miguelina Medero, a loving mother, daughter, and sister whose life was lost under circumstances that remain unanswered.

On July 13, 2024, Miguelina was involved in a domestic dispute inside a vehicle while traveling with her two children, their father, and two other adults. According to limited and conflicting information including eye witness, Miguelina was pushed from the vehicle and was fatally struck on a Georgia highway Dekalb County. Since then, her family has received little to no clear information from authorities—and the case remains unresolved.

Despite the presence of multiple individuals in the vehicle and clear signs of foul play or negligence, the DeKalb County Homicide Unit has failed to conduct a timely, complete, and transparent investigation. To this day, the manner of death is still listed as “Pending” and the voices of her family continue to be dismissed.

We believe:

Key witnesses have not been properly interviewed or held accountable.
Crucial evidence has not been preserved, reviewed, or disclosed.
Miguelina’s children and family have been denied justice, transparency, and closure. 

This is unacceptable.

We demand:
1) A re-evaluation of Miguelina Medero’s case by an independent unit or outside investigator.

2) Accountability from DeKalb County Police for delays, oversights, and lack of communication.

3) Full interviews and formal statements from every individual in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

4) Public transparency regarding findings and the status of the investigation.

Miguelina’s life mattered. Her children deserve the truth. Her family deserves answers. The community deserves better.
