Hi I’m Elisa zaragoza the niece of Juan Pedro Guerra the man who was struck by a Weslaco fire department non-emergency vehicle on Cibollo St the street that takes you directly to Hidalgo County Detention Center. My uncle left behind a 3 month old, 2 yr old, 16 & 18 year old kids that he is very loved by. Till this day we have not heard anything about what happen to my uncle, just what the news media first posted. The media claims my uncle was struck by the vehicle while attempting to cross the street. However, my family and I have been to the scene and we know they are not saying the truth. *Apart from a witness coming forwarding and stating she personally saw he was struck from behind.* They attempted to repair damages made to the vehicle that struck him the day of the accident and we had to ask them to stop to hire a lawyer to further investigate. We know my uncle would not attempt to cross a road seeing a vehicle so close. We know he was struck from behind due to the vehicle veering off road. There were tire marks on the grass and ALL the damages made on the truck he was struck by are on the FRONT passenger side. No damages in the middle nor the left side of the vehicle. It just doesn’t make sense. My family and I are just asking for justice and the truth. That is the least that his kids and family deserve. 

We’d also like to prevent this from happening to other peoples loved ones. This could be prevented by adding light posts on cibolo rd, extended sidewalk so that the inmates may SAFELY walk on, & even a waiting area for inmates that are being released. The speed limit on that road is 55 MPH, which I also believe might have been the reason my uncle was hurt as bad as he was hurt. He had no chance at survival. Please help and join us as a community to help save a life.
