We are starting this petition with a plea for justice, truth and the preservation of a dedicated officer's life. Jovanny Crespo, a devoted police officer of Newark NJ who has always been a symbol of courage, honor and unwavering commitment to protect and serve his community.  On July 5, 2023 the integrity of our justice system was compromised leaving officer Jovanny Crespo unjustly convicted and facing the possibility of spending three decades away from his four children and beloved family.  His tireless efforts to ensure the safety of our streets have touched the lives of countless individuals in our community.  Today we ask that you rally behind this brave officer and his family during their time of need.

In a trial tainted by distorted presentations and an absence of due process, the truth was withheld from the jury. The only evidence presented was a bodycam video, one that fails to accurately portray the reality Officer Crespo faced on that fateful day.  We firmly believe that misrepresentation has led to an unjust verdict.  what happened to the principle of a speedy trial, a fundamental right which is supposed to be granted to every citizen.  Officer Crespo waited four long years, enduring emotional and financial strain, for doing his duty to protect and serve his community.  The denial of his right to a swift and fair trial only adds to the travesty of justice we are witnessing today. 

I appeal to your sense of justice and compassion to support officer Crespos appeal. We are trying to employ a strong legal team dedicated to unraveling the truth and presenting a compelling case that restores faith in our justice system.

The time has come for us to let our voices be heard, to stand up against injustice. Let us reclaim the principles of truth and the presumption of innocence in America's courtrooms.  Together, let us fight for the truth and demand justice for Jovanny Crespo.

Comenzamos esta petición con un llamado a la justicia, la verdad y la preservación de la vida de un oficial dedicado. Jovanny Crespo, un devoto oficial de policía de Newark NJ que siempre ha sido un símbolo de Valentia, honor y compromiso inquebrantable para proteger y servir a su comunidad. El 5 de julio del 2023 la integridad de nuestro sistema de justicia se vio comprometida dejando al oficial Jovanny Crespo injustamente condenado y enfrentando la posibilidad de pasar tres décadas lejos de sus cuatro hijos y su amada familia. Sus incansables esfuerzos para garantizar la seguridad de nuestras calles han tocado la vida de innumerables personas en nuestra comunidad. Hoy les pedimos que apoyen a este valiente oficial y su familia durante esta difícil situación.

En un juicio contaminado por representaciones distorsionadas y la ausencia del debido proceso, se ocultó la verdad al jurado. La única evidencia presentada fue un video de cámara corporal, uno que no retrata con precisión la realidad que enfrentó el oficial Crespo en ese fatídico día. Creemos firmemente que la tergiversación ha llevado a un veredicto injusto. qué pasó con el principio de un juicio rápido?, un derecho fundamental que se supone debe ser otorgado a todo ciudadano. El oficial Crespo esperó cuatro largos años, soportando tensiones emocionales y financieras, para cumplir con su deber de proteger y servir a su comunidad. La negación de su derecho a un juicio rápido y justo solo se suma a la parodia de justicia que estamos presenciando hoy.

Apelo a su sentido de justicia y compasión para que apoyen la apelación del oficial Crespo. Estamos tratando de emplear un equipo legal sólido dedicado a comprobar la verdad y presentar un caso convincente que restaure la fe en nuestro sistema de justicia.

Ha llegado el momento de que dejemos que se escuche nuestra voz, de que nos levantemos contra la injusticia. Reclamemos los principios de la verdad y la presunción de inocencia en los tribunales estadounidenses. Juntos luchemos por la verdad y exijamos justicia para Jovanny Crespo.
