Justice for Jonathan Parker
The Issue
Jonathan Parker has been wrongfully incarcerated for the last 25 years for a murder that he did not commit. He has a life sentence with no parole.
At the age of 19 Jonathan was accused of killing Buffalo police officer, Charles McDougald. The main witnesses in the trial that state they saw Jonathan Parker kill Officer McDougald have signed Affidavits that the court needs to review as NEW EVIDENCE.
In these witness statements, they admit they lied in court by saying they saw Jonathan Parker kill Officer McDougald. When asked WHY they lied the answers all point back to police corruption, and witness tampering.
One witness was told by former detective Andres Ortiz that if he didn't say that Jonathan Parker killed Officer McDougald that he would be taken into a corn field and killed. He feared for his life. Now that the FBI has discovered that former detective Ortiz was a dirty cop who did things like this in other cases, the witnesses no longer fears for their life.
The Erie County District Attorney does not want this new evidence heard in court. He wants an innocent man to serve a life sentence for a crime that he didn't commit. Not only does this hurt Jonathan Parker, but it also denies justice to the slain officer who was killed on duty.

If Jonathan doesn't get a trial, this innocent man can very well spend the rest of his life in prison while a real "cop killer" continues to roam free.
