Get the German Authorities to launch an investigation into Jane's death

Jane Khalaf, 19, was a bright, intelligent, young and a very much loved girl. On November 20, Jane died eight days after she was put on a life support machine after collapsing at Cologne’s St Marien Hospital, in Germany.

Jane was in the German city on a placement from Newcastle's Northumbria University, where she was studying politics. She told friends she thought someone had put something in her drink while out celebrating the city’s carnival.

They didn't take any blood tests when Jane arrived at hospital, where she was just left to wait in the waiting room until she collapsed; which unfortunately was too late as Jane took a turn for the worse. Blood tests taken later revealed that Amphetamine and Ecstasy was in her blood.

Jane's parents only found out that Jane was in hospital on Facebook.

Jane's mum Rojin, said in a recent statement: “The way we were treated and the way her case has been dealt with in Germany was appalling. No one rang to tell us that she had been taken ill in hospital despite the fact she had her driving licence on her as ID: we found out through Facebook.

"Then we were not treated well by the staff at St Marien Hospital when we arrived, who told us stories that shocked us. Some said she was in a waiting room when she collapsed - and it turned out that no blood tests had been taken despite her telling them she believed her drink had been spiked or that any action was taken when they found she had high blood pressure. Then after she died we went to the police to see if they were investigating and we were treated appallingly. They were rude and unhelpful and didn’t seem interested in properly investigating what had happened. They have not even interviewed anyone she was with on the night."

Jane was my friend. I know she was very anti-drugs and a very intelligent girl so we are positive that her drink had been spiked.

Huddersfields MP Barry Sheerman vows to contact German embassy and doctors over the treatment of Jane, however we need all the help we can get to get answers from the German Authorities.

Since we started this petition the German police have launched an investigation into Jane's death. But we also need an investigation into Jane's and her families treatment at the hospital. And we need to keep public attention on this case so that we get the truth for Jane's friends and family.

Please sign this petition so we can press for more action to be taken, to find out who murdered Jane, and so her family can get justice for this sickening act.
