On the night of 17th March 2012, James Todiuwang, a Ph.D student of NEHU from Tamenglong, Manipur was allegedly killed in a motor bike accident near gates No.2 and 3 of the NEHU Campus, Shillong. The prima facie evidences such as the post mortem report, the report on the condition of the bike involved in the alleged accident as provided by the District Transport Officer and many other suggest that the alleged accident that caused James Todiuwang’s death is a clear case of murder. Moreover, the peculiar injury marks on James Todiuwang body strongly indicate that the accident was not the primary cause of his death, but was caused by brutal physical assaults. It was very unfortunate that the investigation carried out was shoddy and unsatisfactory. We demand a fresh judicial probe and bring the culprit to book.

If Dr. Mukul Sangma can cry foul over the suicide of his niece, he needs to clean his own backyard by instituting an independent judicial inquiry in the case of James Todiuwang who was murdered! We request Mr. Conrad Sangma, in his power as the opposition leader to pressurize the Government to take effective actions. We strongly appeal to the Shri. Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur to use his power as our elected representative to secure justice for James Todiuwang.

We all raised our voices for Richard and Dana. Here is another case of injustice. It did not make headlines in the national news. But here is another human live which demand justice. Justice is for everyone!
