On Feb. 12, 2022, Jamal D. Smith, his two brothers, Wayne and Nathaniel, and their families went to a baby shower to celebrate life. By the end of the night, the 3 brothers ended up fighting for their lives. Arnold Oliver decided that bringing an illegal handgun to the baby shower was a good idea. Jamal was fatally wounded, by Oliver. Jamal's brothers immediately disarmed Oliver and defended Jamal's honor, while in fear of their lives and others, are still fighting. THIS TIME FOR THEIR FREEDOM. We would like to start a foundation to continue Jamal's legacy as well as bring awareness to what happened and receive JUSTICE for all three brothers. Our goal is to change the gun and self-defense laws in NYS. Please share their story as well.
