Why this petition matters

Started by Henry Broomfield

Greetings,

I go by the name Wazir (Henry Broomfield).

In,1999 while in High school, I was charged and found guilty of the murder of the neighborhood bully. The judge said, "He didn't believe that I woke up and just decided that I wanted to kill someone." He believed that I was provoked. However, he still gave me more time than I deserve. The Judge said "  When most people commit crimes, you will be in prison and so we won't have to worry about you!

In 2020." I had an assessment done by James Garbraino PHD, who has written several articles and have testified in over 300 murder trial for juveniles.  He was also the Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Loyola Univ of Chicago from 2005-2020. He concluded with all the trauma I experienced, that my behavior wasn't far-fetched. He went on to say, that statistics show that I have an almost zero percent chance of returning back to prison.

Needless to say, I have over 50 certificates of things I have completed/certified in etc. Point is, I proved the judge wrong about what he said about me. Most crime that kids/teens commit has to do with them being young and immature, peer pressure, and environment. The brain doesn't fully develop until you are 25 years old., so why are we being punished and held to some standards that are scientifically incapable of performing at. Here is what it boil down to, why am I paying the price as an adult for something the old me did when I was 17?

At this point, I need support from the people who are in favor of me coming home early!

We all have the choice to change, and I am an example that change can happen. Allow me to help other changes with my release.
