As a Disney fan, I have had a love for both their animated features and their live-action remakes. The latter topic in question does cause some nerves, but they are NOT cash grabs like people say they are; they are nothing like the Disney direct to DVD sequels. They are their own movies, not shot-by-shot. 

allow me to explain the reason for the petition, I truly believe the reason Disney is doing these live-action remakes of their animated classics is because the original versions are products of the times they were made in, and now it’s time for these new versions by the same company Disney to take their place. 

Disney may have made some dumb decisions in recent years, like the Disney/20th Century Fox merger, but the live action remakes are NOT among them. They are what keep their original basis alive for more generations like mine to come. 

These versions have made my childhood more clear crisp and detailed than they have been. Sure, the originals are still better, but that should NEVER take away from the remakes being good in their own way. We should just enjoy them for what they really are. 

it’s time to give them the cult following they deserve and make the internet safe and great again.
