Petition Closed

I am a surgeon working at Sangwan Hospital Sirsa Haryana. I would like to share my pains with you.I have a belief that there are only two kinds of people in this world, Dog lovers and everyone else. I have had pets since time immemorial. I have a very loving Boxer dog who is 8 years old. My kids and Scotchy (my dog) have practically grown up together. I cannot explain the extent of attachment we have for him. The communication and understanding i have with Scotchy is unbelievable and defies all logic.

My world came crashing on 16th of November 2009 when Scotchy was stolen early in the morning from outside my hospital.I informed the police in written immediately.I also gave advertisements in local and national dailies announcing an award of 100000/-.I got early inputs which i forwarded to the police.I visited nearly 100 villages and almost all dog breaders of the area.I also went to neighbouring districts.I slept for just a total of 12 hours in 7 days.

On the 22nd of November my Scotchy came back.He was probably dropped back by the culprits, fearing being caught, outside my hospital at 6.30 a.m.But before dropping him they chopped off his right fore leg.The sight of blood in the driveway could scare anyone to death.Scotchy jumped 3 feet high fenced gate with 3 legs and bleeding profusely. He came and sat in front of my front door waiting for me to come and help him.Still bleeding.GOD was kind to me.We found him on time and operated on him.I remember his dazed look of shock wondering how could anyone do such a thing to him.Wondering what he had done to deserve this.My kids were shattered.I informed the police immediately. A medico legal report was prepared by govt. vet surgeon. Then i came to know that the police had not registered a case till then.I have given the police clues of the two vehicles which brought Scotchy back.I have even given them the vehicle series no. CH 03----.I even met the Chief Minister Shri.Bhupinder Singh Hooda who was kind enough to forward it to the S.P Sirsa. But nothing has been done till now.The case was sent to CID crime branch but even they have closed the case(fFIR 694/2009 city thana sirsa).

Our goal is to help make a difference and put an end to the misery and suffering of millions of dogs locked away in puppy mills. Behind the friendly facade of pet shops, web sites, and newspaper ads, there often lies a puppy mill. These canine breeding facilities frequently house dogs in shockingly poor conditions, particularly for "breeding stock" animals who are caged and continually bred for years, without human companionship and with little hope of ever becoming part of a family. After their fertility wanes, breeding animals are commonly killed, abandoned or sold to another mill. The annual result of all this breeding is hundreds of thousands of puppies, many with behavior and/or health problems. Because puppies from puppy mills are more likely to have health problems due to poor care, many consumers are faced with significant veterinary bills or even the death of their puppy soon after purchase.

It's simple...If the pet stores can't sell the puppies, then the commercial breeders won't have a demand to supply.
Puppy Mills Breed Misery! It is up to us... PLEASE DON'T BUY YOUR NEXT PUPPY FROM A PET STORE! If they say they buy from a breeder, it is not an ethical/ responsible breeder, in other words they are lying!

There are so many beautiful animals you could rescue through the OIPA in India - People for animals - PFA Haryana or pound instead for a fraction of the cost. Don't buy at a pet store on impulse! You're just continuing the vicious cycle.

Breeders should be registered with Animal Welfare Board of India - AWBI and illegal breeders should be booked as per law of the land. Animal Welfare Board of India - AWBI also asked DC and SP to set up SPCA and take action against offenders.
Amend PCA Act, 1960.
