Why this petition matters

On this day, July 2nd, 2022 I, Kevin Sabbides - Founder - American Spirit Movement - am declaring July to be recognized as “Independence Month”.

In my opinion - July should be officially recognized as "Independence Month"!

NOT in defiance to the month-long celebration/s or recognition/s of other topics BUT rather in remembrance of the great costs borne by those who toiled, lost their livelihoods, their reputations, and even their lives so that today we may have our Constitutional Republic known as the United States of America.

In a letter written from John Adams to his wife, Abigail Adams, he shared a deep sentiment with regard to his wishes for future generations to celebrate the birth of our great Nation.

I love this quote and have come to the realization there exists a force among us who works as a collective to unravel every Red, White, and Blue thread of the America "we the People" love, cherish, and in the Spirit of these words from John Adams - wish to pass along to future generations.

We need to come together as Patriotic Constitutional Conservatives in the very same Spirit that gave birth to our Republic. We have a responsibility to help educate those who are creating the deeply Factious divisions among our Citizenry that they indeed are the minority within an America we will not allow to become "fundamentally transformed" into some version of a "New America" held by those who would oppose these sentiments as written below:

“The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”

- John Adams to his wife, Abigail Adams, written in a letter dated the Third Day of July 1776

Respectfully submitted,
