Support Funding PTSD Treatment for ALL Veterans in Need, 6 months prior to their release, aided by 24-hour clinics:
JACOBS DELIVERANCE FOUNDATION
Petition recipient: US House Representative Congresswoman Judy Chu, California District 27, to present amendment into law.
We seek your support to demand that lawmakers pass legislation to adequately fund comprehensive PTSD treatment for ALL Veterans in need, 6 months prior to their release from service, aided by supportive 24-hour clinics for Veterans and their families.
ALL Veterans in need must receive vital counseling and treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder so they will not be a threat to themselves, their families and their community. PTSD is often manageable for Veterans who receive treatment, which is why this petition is so important. PTSD left untreated often destroys lives and causes unnecessary consequences and deaths.
80% of those with untreated PTSD commit suicide*
30.5% of those with untreated PTSD become addicted to drugs*
40% of those with untreated PTSD become alcoholics*
The Jacobs Deliverance Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c) 3 humanitarian grassroots charity founded by Pastor James N. Jacobs, a Vietnam Veteran, has championed this need to care for our in need Veterans with PTSD since the charity’s inception in 2002. Each year we see Veteran suicides and violent incidences occur in such great numbers that we can no longer ignore the necessity to change laws and commit funding that will end this growing national tragedy.
We ask that you show your support by signing this petition asking legislators to adequately fund PTSD treatment for ALL Veterans in need, 6 months prior to their release from service, aided by supportive 24-hour clinics for Veterans and their families.
