Brandeis: Support Admitted Students Protesting Gun Violence

The admissions offices at MIT, Boston University, and UMASS Amherst all announced that any school disciplinary measures students receive for participating in peaceful protests against gun violence would not impact admissions' decisions.

As Brandeis students, alumni, parents and faculty, we implore Brandeis to make the same announcement.  Brandeis prides itself on its foundation of, commitment to, and history of social justice and student activism.  Students brave enough to raise their voices in this gun control debate despite facing disciplinary measures are exactly the type of students Brandeis should want as members of its student body.

We would like to see Brandeis as a leader of institutions of high education supporting students' rights to protest.
