Appeal to Honourable Cheif Justice of Pakistan

The Supreme Court of Pakistan had made the owners of Bahria Town Karachi (BTK) liable to pay a large sum of money to cover the consequences of their illegal acts of commission and omission.
They are now wanting to recover this money from the owners of property in the project in the garb of “development charges” Without giving any justification whatsoever, they have suddenly demanded from the owners of the plots, an additional sum of money as large as equal to almost 40% of the earlier agreed “Land and Development Charges”, terming the same as “development charges”.
In a typical case, in response to the Bahria advertisements, the allottee made an application in Oct.2013 and then paid the full demand in instalments in terms of the advertisement over next 4.4 years( or near about ) in instalments. Bahria was committed to give possession of the plot immediately thereafter but failed to do so.
Now after 2 years of full payment, they have, unilaterally, sent the aforementioned huge additional demand notices with a threat to cancel the allotment in the event of non-payment. This demand is clearly illegal, exploitative, arbitrary and coercive.
The allottees are white collar persons from middle class like retired pensioners, widows, women and senior citizens, who have invested their life savings here and simply do not have the means to pay anything more.
The victims are in thousand but cannot possibly afford to litigate with the property tycoon, well known for his immense wealth and influence. They are, ostensibly, trying to generate resources to pay the penalty imposed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
In these circumstances, it is a fit public case to be taken suo motu notice of by the Hon’able Chief Justice of Pakistan.
This appeal deserves consideration on humanitarian grounds.
