Remove Antonin Scalia from the Supreme Court

Remove Antonin Scalia from the Supreme Court
The Issue
This week, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia made remarks reminiscent of a time in American history when schools were segregated based on skin color, African-Americans were treated as second class citizens, and Jim Crow laws ruled in the South.
During oral arguments in a case concerning affirmative action, Justice Scalia said “There are those who contend that it does not benefit African Americans to get into the University of Texas where they do not do well, as opposed to having them go to a less-advanced school, a slower-track school, where they do well.”
Such opinions can only develop from an ideology which views African-Americans as genetically inferior, and these opinions have no place in the Supreme Court of 21st Century America. Congressional Black Caucus Chairman G.K. Butterfield (D-N.C.) has suggested the Judicial Conference of the United States should review the comments and consider his removal from the bench.
We wholeheartedly support this proposal, and believe that such bias expressed by a Supreme Court Justice poses a danger to the future of justice for underrepresented and minority communities.
Please sign this petition asking the Judicial Conference of the United States to review his comments and consider his removal.
