My fiancé has been having some issues with receiving justice after being falsely accused of trespassing the Delray Beach Police Station. His initial visit to the police station was to file a complaint on an officer. As he went inside to ask for a complaint form, he was denied and told he couldn't receive a paper complaint form and to take several steps to make the complaint electronically. Confused he asked for assistance from a higher ranked sergeant. When the higher ranked sergeant entered, he quickly noticed this was also another officer that had offended him previously. Outraged he demanded for the Chief of command who was not present. The situation escalated and they asked him to leave in which he refused because his issue was not resolved. So, they demanded him to leave then started claiming that he is trespassing because he did not leave. They then put him in handcuffs, in which he did not resist and let them take him to jail. He never committed a crime all he wanted was assistance to file a complaint and ended up going to jail for no reason! You cannot be trespassed from a public place! According to the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which, as Florida public defender Howard Finkelstein notes, "protects you against self-incrimination." I'm asking for justice on J.P.'s behalf. His charge should be dropped and thrown out for being treated unfairly in a public facility that is supposed to uphold and protect the rights of "we the people"!
