On January 10, 2008 Michael Sterling was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Criminal Attempts-homicide, 3 counts of Conspiracy-Criminal Attempt Homicide, 2 counts of firearm not to be carried without a license, 11 counts of Aggravated Assault, Propel Missile in occupied vehicles, 2 counts of Possession of Instrument of a crime, 6 counts of Simple Assault, 3 counts of Reckless Endangerment and 1 count of Corrupt of Minors. He was 16yrs of age when he was arrested. In the affidavit of probable cause, which became the basis of the guilty plea it states on January 10, 2008 officers Sabillion and Myers were responding to a shots fired call when they were advised that a 911 caller were being chased by subjects in a white sedan. The 911 caller allegedly stated that he was robbed at gunpoint on December 12, 2008 by 2 black males one whom he identified as "Money Grip." On January 10, 2008 the 911 caller Mr Samuels encountered "Money Grip" and asked why he did that to him then Mr. Samuels went home. At home he was working on his car when a white Crown Victoria stopped next to him and "Money Grip" got out of the car with a gun so Mr. Samuels got into his car to flee and they started shooting at him so Mr. Samuels called 911 identified Defendant as "Money Grip".

Mr. Samuels later recanted his statement and an amended petition was drafted and submitted to the courts in a timely manner. Mr. Samuels even wrote a letter dismissing Michael as the assailant. Why is he spending time for a crime he didn't commit? Why has his family had to continue to suffer his absence 9yrs later? Michael deserves due justice. Please sign this petition to have Micheal exonerated of these charges.
