Akil Khalfani started this petition to J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.

I support this petition requesting JPMorgan Chase to add CORESSWC‘s Financial Literacy Program to their Foundation List of Approved 501c3 organizations. The current US climate of disproportionate resources drives this need, especially for students of color.

Upon learning of CORESSWC’s, a 501c3 organization, efforts to educate students at the primary and secondary levels about the importance of financial literacy, as well as their efforts to provide these same students with the necessary tools to be financially literate adults, I feel obligated to support this mission.  To my knowledge, prior to New Jersey’s Governor ‘s mandate of teaching financial literacy in the 8th grade, this was the only Program of this kind in the State of New Jersey. This organization is tenacious, compassionate, and determined in its resolve to “make a difference.”

Since the inception of the organization, CORESSWC has awarded nearly $80,000 in scholarships. The scholarships were made possible through the solicited donations of a few small businesses, community leaders, fund raisers and Investors Bank (of which CORESSWC has no relationship). However, JPMorgan Chase, a bank where the organization has a financial relationship and has had more than $50,000 on deposit has never made any contributions.

I sign this petition requesting that JP Morgan Chase give attention to and pledge donations, secure sponsorships, and partner with CORESSWC’s Financial Literacy Program to help them meet a desperately needed award goal of $100,000 this year.  When such a prestigious institution as yours, supports our initiatives, other Banking and Financial Institutions WILL FOLLOW.

These students are your future clients. Give back, in an area where it counts.  My signature below on this petition encourages you to ADHERE, or I will explore other banking services and encourage others to do the same. I expect CORESSWC to bank where it is VALUED, not under-valued.  I, the undersigned, implore your attention and financial resolve.
