Fake news is evident in this generation. The people are now free to spread any kind of information through social media and other means of communication without awareness if that is true or not.
Some intentionally used this as their propaganda to gain attention and put dirt to someone's name, especially in political matters. Actually, the Philippines enabled a law to catch up the inflation of misleading news. It is the RA 10951 that President Duterte signed into law on Aug. 29 to amend the penal code, the crime of publishing “false news” has been incorporated into the sections on libel.
This was heavily talked for the past weeks, because Assistant Communications Secretary Mocha Uson called out some media organizations for supposedly publishing fake news against her. It is about the news published by GMA 7, a TV station in Philippines that she took a selfie with her boots on inside the Grand Islamic mosque during her visit with President Duterte in Marawi City last September. The senate also questioned her, because in her blogs, she also posted some unreliable information, which allegedly false.
Fake news is not healthy for us, especially for the common Filipinos, because we are the most affected of misleading information that we hear or see in Social Medias and News. We are gullible because we did not know if what the real story behind those pictures is.
We have the rights to know the whole story of what is happening to our country. We deserve real news. Let us fight for what is right. STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS!
