Fair Go: Fix JobKeeper and Cash Flow Boost, End Red Tape Discrimination

0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!

Every day we wait this issue costs Australians their jobs and businesses.

We ask for a fair go for the hard working employees and small business employers that are being left behind.

Due to a flaw in the design of the government's stimulus, two identical businesses will get treated differently based only on when they agreed to with the ATO to report their BAS.

No JobKeeper.

No Cash Flow Boost.

Legitimate small businesses are being told by ATO officers "had you elected to lodge monthly, you would be eligible".

Only businesses making over $20million are required to lodge monthly.

This discrimination is hitting small business employers and their employees.

The need to fix this administrative discrimination has been repeatedly raised with the Treasurer by business and tax bodies including:

  • The Australian Taxation Office
  • The Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia
  • Chartered Accountants (CA) Australia & New Zealand
  • The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman
  • The Council of Small Business Organisations of Australia (COSBOA)
  • Institute of Public Accountants
  • The Tax Institute
  • The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers
  • Tax & Super Australia
  • Australian Bookkeepers Association
  • National Tax and Accountants’ Association
  • Association of Accounting Technicians

We ask the government to follow the advice of these organisations.

Support genuine Australian small businesses and their employees during this public health crisis.

End the administrative discrimination and provide equal access to JobKeeper and Cash Flow Boost for all small businesses and their employees.
