NDCL Gun Violence Walkouts
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
After a recent wave of school shootings, students across the country have organized walkouts and demonstrations to show their support for victims of gun violence, and to show their support for gun reform as an effort to eliminate gun violence in schools and elsewhere. I think it is important that my school, NDCL, participates in such movements to show our solidarity with the victims and our effort to make schools safer for all students. Many schools in the area participated in walkouts on the one week anniversary of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting on February 14th. We should follow in their footsteps and set an example for other schools. The issue of gun violence is one that needs both awareness and action. So, I ask that students of NDCL and students of any other school signs this petition as a pledge to participate in walkouts to protest gun violence. The next national walkout coming up is on March 14th, 2018 as a one month memoriam of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting. At 10:00 am, students will walk out of their schools for 17 minutes to honor the 17 students killed on February 14th. There is another walkout on April 20th, 2018 at 10:00 am to promote gun reform and safety in schools. Please practice your first amendment right to peacefully protest. After you sign this petition, share it with your friends, your family, your classmates, your teachers. I encourage you to contact your senators and representatives and encourage them to take action and make our schools safer. Spread the message and make a change because everyone deserves to get an education and feel safe at the same time. Thank you for your support.
