Restore the White House's "We The People" Petition Site

Restore the White House's "We The People" Petition Site
Why this petition matters

On Inauguration Day, the Biden administration shut down "We The People," the White House's official petition site. Visitors to the site are now redirected to the White House home page.
Launched by President Obama, "We The People" brought the First Amendment right "to petition the Government for a redress of grievances" into the digital age, with the promise of official responses to petitions receiving 100,000 or more signatures within 30 days.
"We The People," while imperfect, served a valuable function. While it could not compel action on an issue, It put the executive branch on the spot, requiring it to explain itself when Americans demanded such action.
We call upon President Joe Biden to restore the "We The People" site, and, in keeping with his inaugural comments lauding "the will of the people," to commit to responding in a timely manner to petitions which gather 100,000 or more signatures.
