Please help end the unjust travel bans on South African countries! While South Africa was the first to report the existence of Omicron, it was not the first to have cases or the origin of this new strain  of COVID-19.

This travel ban is unjust. Why aren't the countries in Europe that had Omicron before South Africa banned from entering the United States? Racial injustice? Economic favoritism?

Many scientists and experts do not support this ban. It is unwarranted and unnecessary. Initial reports indicate that this strain is not a significant health risk as its affect on health is not as detrimental and it is quite manageable. 

This ban is hurting vulnerable and poor people in Africa. These are people who are already beaten down. They don't need another factor to undermine their recovery. 

We call in the U.S. Government to end the travel ban on people traveling from South Africa and neighboring countries immediately.
