All Tobacco Products Should Be Banned

Disabilities, stress, and death are only some of the effects of smoking. These products cause over 480,000 deaths a year. Fellow students, faculty, and adminstration my name is Anthony Iuliani and today I will be gaining your support to put a ban on tobacco products. 
SECONDHAND SMOKING and EFFECTS

Have you ever walked by a crowd of chainsmokers and noticed that there was an awful stench? When you walk by there you may or may not have noticed that you were secondhand smoking. I know you may think that this is terrible because it is! Secondhand smoke contains thousands of chemicals that are toxic to the body. This can cause lung infections, asthma, coughing, sore throats, sneezing, cancer, or heart disease. These also apply the same to the smoker. Think about it this way, you are emitting these chemicals into your lungs against your will! 

CHEMICALS INSIDE OF THESE PRODUCTS

Chemicals inside of tobacco products are extremely addictive yet harmful to the body such as Nicotine (the addictive drug that produces the effects in the brain that people are looking for), Hydrogen cyanide, Formaldehyde, Lead, Arsenic, Ammonia, Radioactive elements, Benzene, Carbon monoxide, Tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs), and Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Now you might be asking yourself why do these tobacco companies put these chemicals inside of their products? The answer to your question has been right in front of us the whole time: money.

MONEY

These tobacco companies are putting your life at risk for money! It has been reported that tobacco industries are making 48 billion dollars a year. Another study has shown that around 6.5 trillion cigarettes are sold around the world each year, which translates to roughly 18 billion cigarettes per day. This means that every day 18 billion people are putting their lives at risk by smoking a cigarette.
