The Jordanian Medical professionals are dismayed with the Jordanian Cabinet approval of the 2022 draft law of the Jordanian Medical Council, and its referral to the House of parliament. The law exempts physicians from sitting the Jordanian Board Exam based on training and or practice outside the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. 

The law, if passed, will destroys credibility and reputation of the Jordanian board. 

This law which was drafted without any referendum or approval by the medical bodies, is considered harmful as voiced out by many physicians and healthcare leaders. It will allow major cracks in the board system enough to allow inadequately trained physicians to practice medical specialties which may consequently jeopardize the health of Jordanian patients.

The Jordan medical council has been a beacon for science and credible medical training in the middle East.  Therefore, withdrawal of the 2022 draft law of the Jordanian Medical Council, with this specific amendment is a priority to save the Board from a potential detriment to the Jordanian medical profession.

اٌصيب القطاع الطبي الأردني بالصدمة بعد أن وافق مجلس الوزراء الأردني على مسودة مشروع قانون المجلس الطبي الأردني الجديد، ومن ثم إحالته إلى مجلس النواب. ويعفي مشروع القانون الأطباء من تقديم امتحان البورد الأردني (شهادة الاختصاص) بناءً على التدريب و/أو التدريب خارج المملكة.

وسيتسبّب القانون، في حال تم إقراره، في تقويض مصداقية وسمعة المجلس الطبي الأردني، حسبما أعرب العديد من الأطباء والقيادات الصحية في الأردن، حيث أشاروا إلى أن القانون، الذي تمت صياغته دون الرجوع إلى الجهات الطبية ودون موافقتها، سيُلحِق ضرراً كبيراً في المهنة نظراً للخلل الكبير الذي سيُحدِثه في نظام الاختصاص، والذي سيسمح للأطباء غير المدربين تدريباً كافياً بممارسة التخصصات الطبية، مما قد يعرّض صحة المرضى الأردنيين للخطر
