Justice for Ammo
On September 22, 2013, Sgt. D. Little of the Jones County Sheriff’s Department shot and nearly killed Ammo, a 10-month-old pit bull/mastiff mix in the head after her human tried to do the right thing and report a crime.
While her human Anna Peed was forced to remain at the Sheriff's Dept, she notified Sgt. Little and the deputy with him that she had 2 dogs considered "bully" breeds and that both dogs were Non-aggressive and very friendly. She stated that the worse that would happen is that officers would be licked to death.
Minutes before the Sheriff’s Department arrived Ammo had to use the bathroom. Anna's roommate Kyle took her out thinking they still had some time before authorities arrived. Ammo was sniffing the ground. Upon arriving, Sgt. Little got out of his car and Ammo looked up with her tail wagging. He shot her in the left side of her head. Just below her ear with a .40 caliber round. Sgt. Little was also involved in the shooting and killing of american bull dog "Eden" Just last year.
Ammo is, and has been, raised with small children, a cat, and chickens. She has never attacked anything in her life. Her crime was being happy to see new people and she was shot in cold blood.
We want justice for Ammo.
We petition Jones County Sheriffs Department for SGT. Little to be held accountable for his actions and to be held responsible for all future vet care whether it be physical, mental and emotional for Ammo pertaining to this incident.
We petition Jones County Sheriff's Department for better training of all their officers. We want Sgt. Little off of the streets and away from human and animal contact so no more of our animals are harmed by his hand again and counceling to overcome his obvious fear against animals.
