Equal treatment for non-NHS staff - Widening Access Training Scheme (WATS)

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

The HMRC Widening Access Training Scheme (WATS) allows NHS staff to claim tax and NI rebates worth thousands of pounds for attending certain training courses.

The same rebates are denied to the thousands of staff currently working in the NHS that are employed by charities and other independent employers despite the fact they are attending exactly the same training courses and doing exactly the same jobs as their NHS colleagues. This does not seem fair.

Non-NHS staff working in the NHS often receive worse pay and conditions than their NHS colleagues for doing the same work and are missing out on thousands of pounds in tax/NI rebates under the WATS scheme.

Please sign our petition and help us to address this inequality.

Thank you.
