CAUSE SF2 started this petition to Jon Ossof and

The citizens of the Cities of South Fulton, Union City, and Fairburn are being negatively affected by an inordinate amount of warehouse construction due to the proximity to Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport and the lack of commitment to better real estate development by city leaders.  Our community is becoming a destination for warehouses without regard for the environmental hazards, health hazards and consistent reduction it causes to our home values.  Within the next two years if we can't stop this damaging trend, there will be more than 20 warehouses around us unless we can stop this environmental injustice that disproportionately plagues black and brown people.  Our community is about 70% black and brown people.  We have attended city council meetings, regional meetings, written letters, made calls, and our health and well-being is simply being ignored.

The present path creates:

More toxic air for our children to breathe;
Dangerous traffic as residents and 18 wheelers try to occupy the same space on roads that were not built for trucks;
The value of our homes will continue to be limited with every warehouse, tumbling by 20 to 40% below the same houses in other parts of town;
Warehouses have been built across from schools our children attend , seriously jeopardizing their health and safety

We need your help to be heard please.

We are having a virtual, "No More Warehouses" rally this month, May 29, 2021 from 11:30 am till 1:30 pm, via Zoom. Please join us if you can, no matter where you live, if this concerns you and your community as well.

We are collecting names to take to our Senators and the Federal and Regional Agencies as we seek their intervention so our children and property values can recover with the cessation of these practices.  We would appreciate your participation and know that the voice of the people is always louder together.  Please show your support by signing this petition.
