Problem
After serving the Ventura Community for 52 years, our wonderful owner, Boss, friend, mom , is retiring ! Corporate is taking over. They are coming in and closing the restaurant's doors on January 1, 2019. Only to make the necessary repairs so desperately needed. But when it comes time to re-open the Vagabond doors, us "VAG" Girls are not going to be behind those doors to welcome all the generations that have grown up in their wonderful restaurant, to the new Vagabond Coffee Shop! This said corporation, is going to put out a "now hiring" add in the paper, and we have to apply and go through an interview. And everyone knows that the Vagabond crew are no spring chickens! So some of them will not have the chance to do so! This is NOT right.  This restaurant has been there for ALL of Ventura! Show this corporation how BIG of an impact The Vagabond Coffee Shop, Jolene and her crew has had on us all!!!!

Personal story

Every person that walks through those doors and a lot of them have been doing so for the past 50+ yrs, are finding out that one, Jolene is officially retiring, and two, the said corporation will NOT be re-opening the doors with the same girls that work at the Vagabond Coffee Shop now. I knew this restaurant had a long standing impact on the entire Ventura Community, but didn't realize how much of one. And we will soon find out. " without you girls re-opening the restaurant, it wont be the same. They can say their keeping the name but that's all it will be, is a name! This is why people come in because of its uniqueness and old school style!" , Is what a lot of people are saying.
