Dear Leaders of Nations in ASEAN,
The Army of Myanmar has declared a war against terorist. In accordance to this declaration, the Army of Myanmar is currently encircling the townships of Maungdaw, Buthidaung and Rathedaung, home to around 800,000 people, and imposed a curfew from 6pm (11:30 GMT) to 6am (23:30 GMT). A such, violences are inevitable where the Myanmar Authorities say that nearly 100 people have been killed since the beginnging of the escalation on last friday (25 Aug 2017). However, the advocates of Rohingya people may suggest much larger number up to 800 people, according to Al Jazeera on 28 Aug 2017.
Altough the government of Myanmar retains its sovereignity to enforce the law and restore order in their own teritory, the killings in this scale are unthinkable and reflecting vulgar violations against the human rights. The law enforcement is not as same as pointblank reprisals against innocent civilians.
The ASEAN nations share the common history under the repressive western colonialisation and therefore we truly understand the true value of freedom and human dignities. Now, the ASEAN Nations shall unite and solve this problem in a spirit for harmony and justice.
Therefore, we ask your action responding this calamity. ASEAN shall immediately initiate the multilateral discussion to push the Myanmar's military government to stop the violence and start mediation and negotiation to reach a permanent, peaceful solution for this problem.
We cannot afford the bloodshed of Rohingyan people any longer. In fact, we cannot tolerate any violence against the human rights!
